Please note though that unless you are absolutely sure of the state and/or the regiment of the troop a last name alone search will probably be more productive. You can however use the state search to find all of the troops from that state or combine it with a particular last name to find all of the troops with that last name from that state. The same scenario holds true with the regiment box. NA (non-applicable) is the default for the state and regiment. In addition, you can also search by a partial last name. For example, if you are looking for "Smythe" and are not sure of the spelling you can put "SM" in the last name box, press "EXECUTE" and all troops with a last name starting with "SM" will be returned to include "SMYTHE".
