There was a James Millar listed in William Henderson's Company of Daniel Morgan's Regt. in a May 1778 pay roll with notation "Volunteer" next to his name. What would that notation mean- he was a local who joined for a short time? Where was Morgan's Regt in May 1778? If anyone has ready access to Morgan's Regt records could they tell me how long this James Millar was in the Regt or any information about him?
