    2. As for provisioning the Continental Army (below), this was a hallmark of Revolutionary Connecticut. The book, Connecticut: The Provisions State, by Chester McArthur Destler, details the mighty effort made by this colony/state, under the leadership of its wartime governor, Jonathan Trumbull. Receiving Contintental money was a patriotic act in itself, especially as inflation spiraled ever higher and the money became more and more worthless.
