Hi, List I've just been told that an ancestor -- Joseph Levering (1748-1822) of Philadelphia -- is listed in the DAR Patriot Index as a "sergeant" who served in the Revolution (presumably in a Pennsylvania unit). According to the person who passed this information along, the Patriot Index does not reference the particular unit or regiment. Can anyone tell me where to find this information?
