Some of these were Scottish who came first to Monmouth NJ then moved to the area of South Carolina near Williamsburg County / Black River Georgetown... she 10 generations back. Anyway our most recent Burton was Sarah who married a POTTS; according to a Potts researcher many in the families move together to Winston County Mississippi. My Rosa McClelland comes back to SC and marries in Sumter; their child my grandmother's ancestor was born in Reconstruction era Charleston. Dolly
