We have had several that could be it. I thought it was Colonial and Revolutionary History of Upper SC by Dr. J B O Landrum. It was first printed in 1897. But it has nothing on log cabins that I could find. One that has a description of a cabin is Partisans and Redcoats by Walter Edgar but it is Harper Collins publisher. It came out in2001. It has a lot about the Brattons of York County. Give some more clues.
