The Illinois SAR and SCW have digitized 13 microfilms of George Rogers Clark's papers from the Virginia State Library and they are at this URL: http://my.execpc.com/~sril/clarkv07 For the genealogist or those looking to join patriotic organizations there are thousands of names. For the historian (like me) there are thousands of details of the day-to-day operations of the militia such as supplies, finances, personel, animals, etc. Just FYI - maybe this has already been announced here but it is too good for me not to want to tell all my friends! Thank you,David, for sharing this link. I had not seen this before and it is fascinating. Deb http://my.execpc.com/~sril/clarkv07 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
Gosh, David, thanks for posting this. Though you and I know each other, I'm one of the lurkers on this site. I'm working with our local DAR chapter to prove some of the suspended pensioners/rejected pensioners in the 1830s pension scandal investigated by Singleton. Several of the suspended pensioners claimed service with Clark. >The Illinois SAR and SCW have digitized 13 microfilms of George Rogers >Clark's papers from the Virginia State Library and they are at this URL: > >http://my.execpc.com/~sril/clarkv07

People making money faking pension claims for old pioneers whether or not they were in the service. Joy, the Calrk papers are searchable. You will find lots of neat stuff like mention of Zack Morgan, Jacob Westfall, William Lowther, John Hardin, George Jackson, etc. and others of our common interest. Contact me backchannel and tell me what you find that you like. Best Regards David Armstrong Elkins, WV
