How long before the List Manager steps in and stops this "DAR/SAR" bashing ? I left the Civil War list because people could not stick to Genealogy and I guess I'll do the same here. Russell
You are right, and I'm sorry for my part in this heated discussion. It was not my intention to bash DAR or SAR, but couldn't resist answering some of the remarks made about me. Please accept my apology. Joanne cartwheel1@juno.com wrote: How long before the List Manager steps in and stops this "DAR/SAR" bashing ? Dear List Friends, I've just returned from our DAR chapter meeting. Here's what happened: we had a business meeting at an historic location, the Andrew Jackson Downing Park Visitors Center. After the business meeting, we presented our Community Service Award to a member of our community who has devoted many hours to helping the homeless. The guests who attended were members of the recipient's family with all the children, the director of the local outreach center, the pastors of her church, and a number of other people who have known her for years, plus of course, the members of our chapter who attended the meeting. We had a beautiful reception with delicious refreshments, and everyone had a great time talking about everything, including their ancestors, genealogy, the Revolutionary War, veterans, and patriotism. Yes, I know that this is off topic, but the critical messages about the DAR have made it necessary for me to tell the members of the list that we are not all like that -- in fact, I've not met any like that. Please try to find a chapter that is warm and welcoming -- there are many of them. Karen Sullivan, Regent Quassaick Chapter DAR
I suppose I'd have to agree that it's been OT long enough. :) Back to genealogy! :) -D -----Original Message----- From: american-revolution-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:american-revolution-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of cartwheel1@juno.com Sent: Saturday, December 09, 2006 9:25 AM To: american-revolution@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [AMERICAN-REVOLUTION] DAR/SAR How long before the List Manager steps in and stops this "DAR/SAR" bashing ?
