    3. Dear Diane, I'm a prospective DAR Member as of today. I was referred to my local chapter by the National Web site. I visited them. Was so excited that I went on the wrong Saturday. I was so proud to finally be doing what my Granny wanted me to do years ago. I visited once more but felt like I caused a "ripple." I ask National if I could be referred to another chapter before I decided which one to join. Received an invitation from a chapter 45 minutes from my home, they have a flow of applicants and I seemed to fit right in. They've been much more warm & welcoming than I could have imagined. If your local chapter doesn't respond to you.....try another.
