Donna, The DAR Patriot Index has 3 Richards listed under the surname Thomas. The one which matches yours states: b c 1745 d 1 - - 1839 m (1) Rhoda Porter Pvt MD. This means he was born circa 1745 but no place of birth is given, he died on the 1st day of an unknown month in 1839, his 1st wife was Rhoda Porter, and he served as a private in Maryland. I believe the Patriot Index only lists Patriots who have had someone join the DAR using the listed Patriot as an ancestor. There are three Richards listed in the pension database also. I looked them over. None that fits your Richard Thomas. I too am a Thomas researcher of the Tristram Thomas line out of Talbot Co MD.
