Stubby, Adam RITTER is my ancestor. I have his Rev. War records and have never been able to find the reference to Camp Germania other than in his records that state he enlisted there. I know of the first and second settlements of Germania in the early 1700's. I believe that was located in Madison County of today which was a part of Culpeper until 1793. Culpeper County was a part of Orange County until 1749 and I know that even after Frederick County became a county in 1738, also from Orange County, many of the early settlers still traveled to Orange and Augusta Counties in order to file documents. So that area is a possible location for the camp. I know that this reference to Camp Germania could be many different things such as a permanant place or maybe just a camp set up temporarily for the troops at the time. I thought if someone else had a reference to it in their records perhaps that would add a clue to the mystery. Thank you so much for your input and help. Best regards, Chocy
