    3. Hello, Thanks so much for this story. I should have specified in my post that actually these do not need to have Canadian angles to the stories at all! They can be fully American stories because these films will be for a US television audience. Silly me for not stating that! Perhaps you have some other US stories for me?! 3. I know this is off topic but may relate to the discussion... Two bits of irony I've learned about my family: 1. My GGrandfather on my Grandfather's side was one of four boys who grew up in Henderson CO, TN. Two took the Federal side and two took the Confederate side. It tore the family apart. Of the four, one, a Federal soldier, I know little of but he disappeared after the Civil War and was never heard from again. The second son who went to the Federal side was captured fairly soon after hostilities began in TN. He spent most of his time in Confederate prisons and wound up at the end of the war in Andersonville Prison, GA. On his way home, after all those months as a prisoner of war, he was killed in the explosion of the "Sultana", a few miles north of Memphis, the worst maritime disaster in U.S. history. A neighbor of his, who survived, watched him drown and came home to tell the story. The two who went to the Confederate side returned to Henderson CO and resumed farming. One of these, My GGrandfather had been captured at the Battle of Island No. Ten and later paroled. 2. a. Second, My GGGrandfather on my Father's side joined the 25th MI infantry and was was wounded in KY (shot through the buttocks) at the Battle of Tebb's Bend, also called the battle of Green River Bridge, on July 4, 1863. They were defending a river crossing from the forces of John Hunt Morgan. Morgan was defeated and forced to re-route his army in order to continue raiding to the North. That is the same day the the Battle of Gettysburg and the Siege of Vicksburg were ending. b. Stay with me here...almost done.... My GGGrandfather on my Mother's side was a member of one of the "independent" (some might say renegade) Confederate Raiding companies commanded by O.B. Hamilton. As I recall, O.B Hamilton was likely with Morgan at Green River Bridge. My GGGrandfather on my Mother's side rode with Hamilton until he finally hired a substiute for him sometime in 1863. I haven't established the exact time, but it is certainly possible that these two were opposing each other on that day. And oh yes, remember My GGrandfather captured at Island No. Ten? The neighbor who survived the Sultana disaster later traded farms with him. Then My GGGrandfather was killed in a wagon accident. Then that neighbor married My GGrandfather's wife and got all of his property. Small world... more irony with that comment.... the name of the family in Henderson CO, TN (my line) was Small. It just goes on and on. -------Original Message------- From: Rebecca Snow Date: 2/7/2007 10:40:36 AM To: american-revolution@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [AMERICAN-REVOLUTION] Revolutionary War descendants wanted Hello, Thanks so much for this story.
