    3. Actually, the online DAR patriot index has this additional information about Zebedee Delano: Future Applicants Must Prove Correct Service: The proof of service used to establish this person as a patriot is no longer valid. Subsequent evaluation of the proof of service may have determined that the proof is not acceptable under today's standards (examples: tombstone, obituary, undocumented genealogy or county history, family tradition); the service belongs to another person of the same name; the residence of this person during the Revolution is inconsistent with the service, or multiple people have claimed the same service. Future applicants must provide proof of service (and possibly residence) that meets current standards. You can still send to the DAR for a record copy, but you will have to prove his service if you apply for membership. The registrar or lineage research chairman of a chapter near you should be able to help you with this. And if necessary, they can kick it up to the state level. If your ancestor is listed as a DAR Patriot, you don't have to prove his service just your connection to him. Send to the DAR for a copy of the papers on Zebedee and they will list his service and the ancestral line of the person who first joined DAR using his service. 3. Thanks, That's why I need to find additional dated documentation. I'd like to find a copy of the Roster. I'm Hoping someone on this list would have excess, and would be able to help me find the Roster? That may or may not help? Thanks again, Iris ----- Original Message ----- From: "Karen Sullivan" <ksullivan@hvc.rr.com> To: <american-revolution@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 03, 2006 12:53 PM Subject: Re: [AMERICAN-REVOLUTION] ICHABOD HOW/ZEBEDEE DELANO > Actually, the online DAR patriot index has this additional information > about > Zebedee Delano: > > Future Applicants Must Prove Correct Service: The proof of service used to > establish this person as a patriot is no longer valid.
