Captain Thomas BARR, 3rd Artillery Regiment, Continental Army. >From Heitman-- "Barr, Thomas (Pa). 3d Lieutenant of Captain Roman's Company Pennsylvania Artillery, 28th March 1776; 2d Lieutenant, 15th May 1776; Captain Lieutenant of Stevens' Battalion of Artillery, 9th November 1776; company formed part of 3d Continental Artillery in 1778; Captain, 5th November 1778, and served to October 1779." Captain Thomas Barr was one of two artillery officers at the Battle of Stony Point, NY 15-16 July 1779. He directed the fire of captured British guns on the British fort at Verplank Point across Hudson River. I have no genealogy for this patriot. Best regards, Hugh
