I found a Richard Martin in Orange Co., VA., who had a first(?) wife named ANTHORITE. They sold land that had been granted to Richard in 1755 in 1765. It is thought they were making preparations for their move into Orange/Caswell Co., NC. Can anyone help me with the maiden name of Anthorite and the date and place of their marriage? They had 4 children: 1) Lydia, b 1750 married Jacob Flowers; 2) Mary b 1753, married Pipkin, dec'd before her father wrote his will in 1786; 3) Arron b 1755, died 1795 in Wayne Co., NC., leaving a son Richard and six additional children, all unnamed, and 4) Elizabeth Martin, b 1760 probably in VA, d 1835 in Marion Co., MS.; married Nicholas Powell, probably in 1786 when Nicholas was on the NC Tax rolls in Wayne Co. Any help with this family will be very much appreciate. mbm
