    1. Green River KY ca. 1805-10 land
    2. Hello list: My distant grandfather (Philip A. Conner) enlisted in the 3rd VA in late 1775 and served in that an other units until mustering out in 1781, rising to the rank of sergeant. He settled into Prince William County, VA after the war, apparently operating a farm or working on one, and also worked as a farrier. He married "unknown" and raised two sons. He also received 200 acres in the southern Ohio war bounty land area but in the mid-1780s bundled his land with others who sold their block of land to a Virginia resident. A biography of one of his sons, born in the early 1790s says that in 1806 the son (and presumably the entire family of 4) migrated to Green River, KY. My research so far has been unable to pinpoint a locale in KY known as Green River. The Green River itself winds through at least 10 counties in west central KY before emptying into the Ohio River. Something prompted the move to wherever Green River was. Perhaps merely economics. However, I am hoping to uncover where it was, whether it was associated with Rev. War service, and whether someone who had sold their Ohio war bounty land perhaps 20 years before would have any standing to claim or purchase land in KY? Any information or insight into this KY location or any association with the war would be much appreciated. Thanks, Richard Conner in Las Vegas

    3. Jackie here, I looked at another pension application for a Philemon Conners who served in the VA militia. Series: M805 Roll: 212 Image: 518 File: S17364 This man was about 5 years younger than the first set of info I sent to you. (Phillip is a known nickname for Phielmon). It lists his residence as Orange Co VA at the time of his multiple enlistments totaling 1 year. It gives his father as John Conner and his step mother as Lucy Conner. Lucy lived in Boone Co KY. and has knowledge of his service in the Rev War. Also mentions his brother, first name unclear but looks like John Conner. Born in Orange Co VA 29th June 1763 During his enlistment he was a resident of Orange Co VA and lived with his father. Immediately after his last tour he moved with his father to Washington Co VA and lived there 1 year. Lists areas of residence as Lincoln Co KY, 1 year. Lists Mercer, Fayetteville, and Scott Counties KY for about 10 years. During this time he served under Col. Logan in a campaign against the Indians during he year1795. In 1795 he settled in Boone Co KY, where he lived until 1829 when he moved to Harrison Township, Fayette Co Indiana. Died Aug 10, 1833 Lucy Conners was 75 years of age in 1832 His brother John Conner (name clear this time) was born 1774 and was living in Fayette Co Indiana in 1832 If this one is in fact your Phillip Conner, it would at least narrow down your search for his county of residence in KY.
