I need some help in searching for my grandfather Jacob Brinkley B 1775 in Nansemond Co.,Suffolk, Va and he married Apsley Griffin in 1805. They had one son Admiral Brinkley and he was born in Nansemond Co. and died in Nansemond Co. the problem is the courthouse burned and I can not find any records on his property where he purchased it or sold it and any tax records or personal property documents. I don't know where he is buried. I cannot find a birh or death certificate or marriage certificate. I am up against a brick wall. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me to locate my grandfather grave or where he farmed. He was listed as a farmer and a planter in Nansemond Co. and i have searched everywhere to find some records, church, Bible, marriage and the Archives do not have anything on him. If someone in the Brinkley family sees this , please I would greatly appreciate your help and any pictures of the Jesse M. Brinkley family. I have found most everything on all my grandfathers except this one and I can't break this brick wall.
