I am seeking the birth year, the name of the first wife of my 4th ggfather Richard Martin. Providing Elizabeth was his first child, she was born 1769 and was married to Nicholas Powell ca 1786. There was one son and three known daughters of this marriage. Richard m2 Frances Turner 1783 in Caswell Co NC. They had 3 children together: Richard, Jr b 1784, Bitha, and Sarah. Although Richard is on the tax roll in Caswell Co in 1784, he died in Wayne Co NC during the first half of 1786. Richard left a will which also found in Abstracts of the Early Deed of Wayne Co., ND 1780-1793 by Joseph W. Watson.. In Deed Book 4, item #783, p 42 Franky Martin, on 5 Nov 1787, in consideration that Samuel Harrell should take and raise her three children, Richard, Bitha, and Sally Martin, a 150 ac plantation where the said Franky Martin now lives, bing half of the land and plantation formerly belonging to Richard Martin, Dec'd.
