Some of the list I manage have been hit by a notice for a new website. These family forum websites have been set up for all of the lists on rootsweb. I won't go into all the hoopla this website has caused amongst the list owners. But I will caution all of you against sending information to these websites. It is believed by some that this information may someday be used for commercial purposes. I have no proof that this is the case, but in discussion with others I consider to be good sources I have been told that this might be the case. DO NOT believe that just because this information was send out via the list that it is endorsed by me or rootsweb. It is NOT. The messages were posted without my permission by someone that is NOT a subscribed member. I'm not saying don't use the site, just be cautious... Questions? Email me privately....
