Hi Amburgey Cousins It has come to my attention that the new Governor of Kentucky, Ernie Fletcher, is an Amburgey Cousin. His Mom is Ella Marie Amburgey Fletcher. Ella Marie is the daughter of Walter Jerman Amburgey and Eliza Myrtle Bates. Walter is the s/o Franklin "Frank" Amburgey and Susan Alice Rogers. Frank is the s/oWilliam "Tight Bill" Amburgey and Hannah Bentley. William is the s/o William Amburgey and Lucy Franklin and William is the s/o John Amburgey, Jr and Elizabeth Hammons. I am so thankful for all the work that Dorothy Amburgey Griffith did on the Amburgey Family research and publishing two books on the Amburgey Family. The books are still available and can be ordered by writing Dorothy at dotgriff@juno.com Also, I have some information on older generations of the Hammon Family from research by Stratton Hammon and I have permission from his brother Neil that I can share this information.
