Thomas Francis Amburgey, son of Ambrose Amburgey was born in 1825 and died in 1897. Known as Frances Amburgey during the Civil War while he served with the Confederate Army in the 5th KY Mtd. Infantry, he was discharged and thus survived the great conflict. His discharge gives a description of him as 6' 1 & 1/2 '', fair complexion, blue eyes and dark hair. I was curious if anyone out there has a photograph of him. You would think that with passing away in 1897, someone would have taken a photo of him that a descendant would possess for positive identification. But, to no avail, my search has been fruitless.
