    3. Found an obit on the internet. I have Kathryn married to Floyd Davis Amburgey, s/o Floyd Witt Amburgey and Nannie B Davis. Floyd Witt Amburgey is the s/o Jeptha J Amburgey and Elizabeth Francis. Carter ALAMOGORDO, N.M. Kathryn Allene (Cobb) "Kathy" Amburgey, 68, of Alamogordo, N.M., left us to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at her home. Kathryn was born November 26, 1936 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to William "Woody" and Naomi (Lamascus) Cobb. Her family moved from Muskogee to Odessa, Texas, when she was in the 6th grade. She was an honor student and head majorette at Odessa High School. At her high school graduation in 1954 she walked down the aisle side-by-side with her high school sweetheart, and future husband, Floyd Amburgey, whom she married in September 1954. During their years together they lived in California, Germany, Texas, Alabama, Arizona, Florida and New Mexico. They lived in Las Cruces, High Rolls, Cloudcroft and Alamogordo during the past thirty years in New Mexico. Kathryn worked for the U.S. Government at White Sands Missile Range in 1954-55 and subsequently in the 1980s. She retired from the U.S. Forest Service in the administration office of the Lincoln National Forest, in 1994. She started the first Women's Aglow in Alamogordo, and was the president of the Alamogordo Chapter and later the pre! sident of the Women's Aglow area board. She was instrumental in founding numerous chapters of Women's Aglow. She is known for her love of Christ, a deep understanding of the Bible, her Bible study teachings, and her love for her family. She was a member of the Cottonwood Christian Fellowship. Survivors include her husband, Floyd Amburgey of the family home; a daughter, Michelle Hale of Alamogordo; eight grandchildren, Shawn Amburgey and his wife Lanessa of Albuquerque, Elisha Amburgey, Joshua Amburgey, Danielle Amburgey and Ian Amburgey, all of Cloudcroft, and Noel Castanon, Shiloh Castanon and Hannah Castanon, all of Alamogordo; a great grandchild, Traeh Amburgey of Albuquerque; and two sisters, Pat Johnson and her husband Lowell of Las Cruces, and Janice Mills and her husband Oliver of Los Alamos. She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert "Robby" Amburgey and Floyd "Bubba" Amburgey; and a granddaughter, Erica Amburgey. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Hamilton-O'Dell Chapel with Pastor Robert Smith officiating. Interment will be in Monte Vista Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home in Alamogordo.
