Generation No. 2 2. HENRY M.5 ALLWEIN (WILLIAM4, PHILIP3, CONRAD2, HANS JACOB1) was born September 25, 1836 in North Lebanon Township, Lebanon County, PA, and died July 18, 1894. He married ANNIE E. MCGINLEY September 13, 1860. She was born March 02, 1837, and died February 26, 1890. Notes for HENRY M. ALLWEIN: Allwein Manuscript HENRY M., - son of William and Mary (Mairs) Allwein was born Sep. 25, 1836, he attended the public schools until he was about sixteen years old after which he attended the Annville Academy for one or two years preparatory to teaching. He taught four or five terms in North Lebanon Township afterwards moved to Lebanon and taught the Parochial School attached to St. Mary's Church for an equal length of time. On Sep. 13, 1860 he married to Annie E. McGinley. He lived on North Eighth St. Lebanon and worked at this trade as plasterer for part of the time, He also kept a stock of Catholic books being the only Catholic book store in Lebanon at this time. He elected water superintendent for the city of Lebanon in the year 1889 and filled that office for three years. He died on July 18, 1894 and was buried at Lebanon. More About HENRY M. Allwein, 60 of 415 North Eighth Street, died at five o'clock this morning in the Good Samaritan Hospital of pneumonia following a two week's illness. He was a retired moulder, a member of St. Mary's catholic Church, the Liberty Fire company and the Holy Name society. He leaves to survive a brother, John W. Allwein and two sisters. Allwein, of 415 North Eighth street, was held at 8:30 o'clock at P. H. Thompson's Sons funeral home and at 9 o'clock in st. Mary's Catholic church. Interment was made in Holy Cross cemetery. Father John J. Lawley officiated. Bearers were Anthony Gates, Ted Shultz, Walter Wentz, martin Guare, Francis Steckbeck and Harry Allwein. P. H. Thompson's Sons were in charge of arrangement.
