ALLWEIN DIES IN LEBANON Ruth Snow Allwein, 85, who established the New England Pantry, Palmyra, and had operated a grocery store at Fifth and Weidman streets in Lebanon, died Friday, Feb. 18, 1983, in Lebanon Valley General Hospital. She lived at Poplar Terrace, 605 S. Eighth St., Lebanon. A native of Montpelier, VT, she was a daughter of the late William and Florence Barber Snell and the wife of the late William Henry Allwein, Jr. She was a retired employee of the Veterans Administration, having worked last in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Mrs. Allwein was a former president of the Women's Club of Lebanon and an active member of the Lebanon chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was particularly involved in the DAR student loan and scholarship programs and its Law Day naturalization court activities. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Lebanon. Surviving are nephews, Stanley W. Foss, Waynesboro; and Alan S. Foss, Reading; three great nieces; and one great nephew. RUTH S. ALLWEIN Services were held Monday, February 21, 1983, in St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Lebanon, for Ruth S. Allwein, 605 S. Eighth St., Lebanon, wife of the late William H. Allwein, Jr. The Rev. Gerald W. Richards, rector, officiated. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery. Relatives served as pallbearers. The Thompson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. ALLWEIN, 59, DIES LAST EVENING Mrs. Lucy H. Allwein, 59, of 1117 Lehman street, widow of Victor Allwein died shortly after 9 o'clock last evening, following an illness of complications. Mrs. Allwein, who resided with a son, Victor Allwein, at the above address, was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
