Barbara Ann Allwein is the daughter of Wayne Christpher Allwein and Eva May Miller Lebanon Daily News Saturday Evening October 27, 1956 SPECK-ALLWEIN VOWS EXCHANGED TODAY The wedding of Miss Barbara Ann Allwein and Donald Lloyd Speck took place at eleven o'clock this morning in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Rev. Lawrence Gross officiated at the double ring ceremony after a 15-minute organ recital by Mrs. Helen Katos. A white bridal carpet was laid in the path of the wedding party and palms and ferns were used as decorations. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne C. Allwein of Jonestown, Route 2. The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Dowdrich of Annville Route 1. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of lace fashioned with a Queen Anne collar trimmed with sequins and seed pearls, and long tapering sleeves. The full bouffant skirt of tulle had a scalloped lace peplum and ruffled underskirt and terminated in a sweep train. Her fingertip vail was held by a cap trimmed with seed pearls. Attending the bride were Miss Ellen Stefonich, friend of the couple, as maid of honor; Miss Barbara Sheetz, a friend and Mrs. Shirley Allwein, her sister-in-law, as bridesmaids. The three attendants were gowned in apricot and royal blue, respectively. The floor length gowns were styled with strapless velveteen bodices with matching jackets, the bouffant skirts decorated with tiers of nylon blue ruffles. Their headpieces were crowns trimmed in rhinestones with face veils to match the gowns. They carried Colonial bouquets of yellow and brown mums and pompons. David Allwein, brother of the bride, served as best man. Ushers were William Coleman, cousin of the groom, and Earl Clements, friend of the couple. Men in the wedding party wore midnight blue tuxedos and white carnation boutonnieres. Mrs. Allwein attended her daughter's wedding in a black dress and white accessories. The groom's mother wore a blue dress and black accessories. Both wore corsages of bay orchids. About 200 guests have been invited to a reception in the Ebenezer Fire Hall. After a motor trip through the South, the couple will reside at Jonestown Route 2. For traveling, the bride chose a pink and gray suit with gray accessories. The New Mrs. Speck graduated from Lebanon Catholic High School with the class of 1951. She is employed at the Lebanon Paper Box Company.
