    2. Carroll is the son of Francis Aloysius Allwein and Amanda Elizabeth Beamesderfer Lebanon Daily News, Lebanon, PA Saturday November 29, 1986 CARROLL R. ALLWEIN Carroll R. Allwein, 89, a resident of the Veterans Administration Medical Center, died there Friday, November 28, 1986. He was the husband of the late Mary Katala Allwein. Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Francis A. and Amanda Beamesderfer Allwein. He was a retired U. S. Postal Service employee. He was a member of St. Gertrude's Catholic Church and was active in Boy Scouts. He entered scouting in 1933 as Troop Committeeman for Troop 7, was Scout Master of Troop 11 of St. Mary's Church from 1936 to 1951 and was Scout Master of Troop 33 of St. Gertrude's Church from 1951 to 1970. He was awarded the Silver Beaver Award in 1956 and in 1973. He was awarded the St. George Medal, the highest honor in catholic scouting. He was a veteran of World Way I and was a life member of the Lebanon VFW. He was also a member of Perseverance Fire Co., the North side Civic Club, The National Association of Letter Carriers, Society of the 28th Division and was a life member of the Lebanon First Aid and Safety Patrol. He is survived by a son, Robert C. Allwein, Manheim; four grandchildren; brothers: Bernard Allwein, Mark J. Allwein, Frederick Allwein and Thomas Allwein, all of Lebanon; sisters: Mrs. Catherine Cincel, Josephine Bunch and Jeanette Keefer, all of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews. ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` NOTE: I don't know if Robert Charles Allwein is the SON of first wife or second wife. #1 Emma E. ALLWEIN Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday, December 1, 1986, in St. Gertrude's Catholic Church, Lebanon, for Carroll R. Allwein of the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Mary Allwein. The Rev. John F. Greaney, Pastor, was celebrant. Interment was in St., Gertrude's Cemetery with Grandsons Kenneth Allwein, Barry Allwein, Gerald Allwein and Sidney Allwein and great-grandsons David Allwein, Brian Allwein, Andrew Allwein and Shawn Allwein serving as pallbearers. Military rites were provided graveside by the Lebanon VFW. Thompson Funeral Home, Lebanon, had charge of arrangements. Nancy Allwein Nebiker nnebiker@bellatlantic.net
