    3. The key to exchanging data between genealogy programs is to create GEDCOM files. GEDCOM is a standard format for exchanging genealogical information between genealogy programs (which does not have to be the same - I use Family Origins 8 but can read any GEDCOM as can any good genealogy program.) Most genealogy programs can read and create GEDCOM files. I currently have just under 4000 of Hans Jacob Allwein's descendents in my file (of over 88,000 people). If you would like an extract ask, and give the parameters such as All descendents of ____, All ancestors of _____, All descendents of all ancestors of ____, etc. I place my GEDCOM on Rootsweb to make it available to others. You can look at it at http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=SHOW&db=stobie . My research objective is all my relatives and their ancestors. (If I am missing your line, please send me your data, GEDCOM format prefered and I will add it to my data. - Thanks.) Enjoy, Thomas A. Stobie, SFO Everything for the Glory of God
