Lebanon Daily News Wednesday February 24, 1971 ROBERT T. PAINE, FORMER LEBANON MAN, 71, DIES Robert T. Paine, who resided at 16 Evergreen Drive, Greenville, PA since 1954 and formerly of Lebanon, died suddenly Tuesday evening at his home. He was 71 and suffered from a heart condition. Paine was a retired chief superintendent of Neff's Construction Co. in Greenville. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Greenville He was w4ell known in the Lebanon area and held memberships in the holy Name Society, the eagles, and the Keystone Gun Club (in which he was a life member). He was a former superintendent of the State Highways Department in Lebanon County. He was active in the Democratic party and helped form the Young Democratic Club here. Paine served as construction supervisor of the first barracks and the hospital at Indiantown Gap Military Hospital. He and the late Daniel Gingrich were construction supervisors of the Sidling Hill Tunnell on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. NATIVE OF COUNTY Born in Lebanon County, he was a son of the late Frank and Elizabeth Killian Paine. Surviving are his wife, Mary C. Lewis Paine, and these children: Robert L., Philadelphia; Elizabeth J., wife of Harold Good, Dallastown; Madeline M., wife of Bashi Matarazzi, Lebanon; Katherine F., wife of Wayne Sattazahn, Leone; Joseph F., Philadelphia; Ann Marie, wife of Glenn Owens, League City, Tex.; and Janet A. wife of Dr. John McParland, Jamestown, PA Thirty-six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister, Helen, wife of Guy Dobbs, Lebanon, also survive A brother, Dr. H. PAINE Funeral service were held this morning in the Thompson Funeral Home for Robert T. Paine, 16 Evergreen Drive, Greenville, PA, formerly of Lebanon. A funeral mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's School Auditorium. Msgr. George W. Rost, pastor, was the celebrant. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ramon Good, Thomas Paine, Dennis Sattazahn, Thomas Moyer, Anthony Matarazzi and Andrew Matarazzi, all grandsons of the deceased. They lived in Lebanon, later Greenville, PA His parents Frank Paine and Elizabeth Killian Lebanon Daily News Tuesday June 5, 1979 MARY L, PAINE Mary Lewis Paine, 82, Evergreen Drive, Greenville, formerly of 748 Mifflin St., died unexpectedly Monday afternoon in the Good Samaritan Hospital. She had been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Wayne Sattazahn, Cleona. She was the wife of the late Robert T. Paine. Born in Lebanon, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Allwein Lewis. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Greenville, where she was active in the medical missions and was also a member of the Rosary Society. While a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church here, she was a past president of the Pennsylvania Catholic Beneficial League and a deanery officer of the parish Council of Catholic Women. She was well known in this area, having at one time been a collector for the Lebanon Daily News. Surviving are eight children: Robert L. and Joseph F., both of Philadelphia; Elizabeth J. wife of Harold Good, Dallastown; Madeline M., wife of Joseph Moyer, Raleigh, N. C.; Mary L., wife of Bashi Matarazzi, Lebanon; Kathryn T., wife of Wayne Sattazahn, Cleona; Anne Marie, wife of Glenn Owens, League City, Texas; and Janet A. wife of Dr. john McParland, Jamestown. Also surviving are 36 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, a sister, Katherine E. Lewis, Philadelphia; and one brother, Edward B. Lewis, Hershey.
