Lebanon Daily News, Lebanon, PA Thursday July 13, 2000 Marguerite Callahan Lebanon native Marguerite Callahan, 93, of Wingate Nursing Home, Needham, Mass., formerly of Easton and Bath, died of cardiac arrest Tuesday, July 11, 2000, in the home. She had made her home in Newton, Mass., for the past 16 years. She was the wife of the late Floyd W. Callahan, who died in 1980. Born in Lebanon, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Cathryn May Allwein Wise. She graduated from Easton High School in 1925 and was a graduate of the Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing in 1933. She worked as a buyer and designer of women's clothing before she entered nursing school. She had spent many years as a private duty nurse, visiting nurse, a member of the Red Cross Nursing Service during World War II, kindergarten teacher and Girl Scout leader at St. Jane Frances de Chantal in Easton. She also worked as an art teacher for young children and adolescents at her art studio, Springhouse Studio in Tatamy. She was also active in art programs at the Auburndale Community Schools in Newton, Mass. Surviving are children Denis Callahan of Easton, Maureen Feist of Bethlehem, and Mary Schneider of Newton, Mass.; sisters Elizabeth Wise, Catherine Wise and June Johnson, all of Easton; a brother, Wilfred Wise of Dayton, Ohio; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
