Allwein, 69, of 815 Joffre St., Lebanon, died Saturday, March 11, 1995, in the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Christine M. Long Allwein, with whom he observed their 50th anniversary on March 3. The retired union carpenter, he was a member of St. Gertrude's Church, Lebanon VFW, and Maennerchor Club, He was Navy veteran of World Way II, serving on the USS Intrepid in the Pacific. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Robert J. Allwein, Lebanon, Mary Ann, wife of Michael Long, Lititz, Dorothy C. wife of Stephen Arnold, Lebanon, Christopher D. Allwein, Lebanon, and Theresa M., wife of Ronald Ratcliffe, Lebanon; 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A son, Michael A. Allwein, died in 1992. He was the husband of Christine M. Allwein. The Rev. John F. Greaney, pastor, was celebrant. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery with Robert Allwein, Sonny Long, Donald Kern, Stephen Arnold, Ronald Ratcliff and Timothy Long serving as pallbearers.
