Zion Road, Lebanon, died Monday, Feb. 19, 1996, in the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville. He was the husband of Viola L. Zimmerman Arnold. Born in Lebanon County on July 15, 1898, he was the son of the late Jerome and Elizabeth Allwein Arnold. He was a former caretaker of Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, a member of the Holy Name Society, the Mt. Zion Fire Co., the Eagles Club and St. Mary's Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are children Sara, wife of Earl Arnold, Myerstown, Kathryn, wife of Louis Parrisi, Long Shore, NJ, Frances Emas, Philadelphia, Gertrude, wife of Joseph Trompeter, Sister Agnes Arnold, SSJ, Howard H.. Arnold, Jr., and Joseph Arnold, all of Lebanon, Rose, wife of Richard Felty, Washington, D.C., Geraldine, wife of Albert Peiffer, Schwenksville, and Robert Arnold, Fredericksburg; a brother, Stephen Arnold, Lebanon; 34 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Ruth Heberling, Lebanon; seven step grandchildren, 16 step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mabel Allwein Arnold; daughters, Mary Arnold, Margaret Allwein and Jean Combs; sons Samuel Arnold, William Arnold and Raymond Arnold, and brothers Henry Arnold and Elijah Arnold. Funeral on Thursday, February 22nd at 9:30 from Thompson Funeral Home, 126 S. 9th St. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
