I can be turned on and off at will. I always turn it off before doing any secure transactions. I do not know if this is nessecary but I do so anyway. They will pay you up to $9 a month for letting them do this. I use the money I recieve to pay for some of my genealogy expenses. I am letting you know about it to help cover some of your genealogy expenses, books, copies, etc. So far I have earned about $40 and have had no problem associated with it or any junk e-mail related to it. I believe it is safe. When it is running, I have a bar taking up about a inch at the top of the screen. It does have advertising which I ignore.
