"Peannie" Alwine of Hanover died March 25 at Hanover Hospital. She was 82. Mrs. Alwine retired from R.S. Pitts Shoe Co., East Berlin. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Hanover. Born in New Oxford April 5, 1917, she was the daughter of the late George K. and Bertha Anthony Kuhn. She was the wife of the late Jacob R. Little and the late John B. Alwine. She leaves four daughters, Dolores Zepp, Mildred Hinkle and Brenda Hartlaub, all of Hanover, and Margaret Swope of Thomasville; two sons, Donald J. Little of Hanover and George F. Little of New Oxford; 25 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Rosemary Hahn, is deceased. Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow with a prayer service at 8 p.m. at Hicks Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown. A Mass of Christian burial is at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 220 Third St., Hanover, with the Rev. Bernard Quinn as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Cemetery. Little, who died Nov. 28, 1963, and of the late John B. Alwine, who died Jan. 16, 1986. Born April 5, 1917, in New Oxford, she was a daughter of the late George Kuhn and the late Bertha (Anthony) Kuhn Ruby. She was retired from R.S. Pitts Shoe Co. in East Berlin and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Hanover. Surviving are two sons, Donald J. Little of Hanover and George F. Little of New Oxford; four daughters, Dolores Zepp, Mildred Hinkle and Brenda Hartlaub, all of Hanover, and Margaret Swope of Thomasville; 25 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosemary Hahn; a granddaughter, Katharine McIntyre; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter. The funeral will be Tuesday, meeting at the Hicks Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, at 8:30 a.m. to proceed to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 9 a.m. The Rev. Bernard Quinn will officiate. Burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery, Hanover. Friends may call Monday evening at the funeral home, with a prayer service to be held at 8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Donald Little, George Little, David Hartlaub, Larry Zepp, Scott McIntyre and James Hahn.
