Arnold Richard W. "Shorty" Arnold, 78, of 145 N. Ninth St., Lebanon, died of natural causes Sunday, May 28, 2000, in Lebanon's Good Samaritan Hospital. Born in Lebanon on April 22, 1922, he was a son of the late Paul E. and Emma Wagner Arnold. He was retired from the former Steffy Shoe Co., Avon, and was a member of St. Mary's Church. He is survived by nephew Michael L. Arnold of Annville and nice Vicki A. Madenford of Annville and several other nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Patricia J. Arnold of Lebanon and Phyllis Arnold of Elgin, Ill. He was preceded in death by brothers Louis F. Arnold and Theodora Arnold. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home, 126 S. Ninth St. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg.
