His wife Elizabeth having died he married Mary A. daughter of Henry Eckenroth of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, August 11, 1816, at Reading, Pennsylvania. Witnesses John Arnold and Philip Allwein. At the age of 90 years he still worked in the fields at times. On March 23, 1837 he married Rebecca Hoover, (Widow, maiden name Wolf).
