    1. [ALWINE] Dorothy Sherer correction
    2. Rachel and Adam
    3. This is any obituary that was sent out a few months back and I just wanted to make a correction regarding Dorothy Sherer's Allwein ancestry. Her father was not in fact the son of Joseph Adam Arnold and Mary Catherine Reinsel as noted by Thomas below. Joseph and Catherine did have a son called Francis G Arnold, born in 1974 but on their cemetery stone it says he died in 1901. The stone at Holy Cross Cemetery states: ARNOLD J Adam - August 22 1849-May 8 1914 Catherine Reinsel - April 26 1852-January 6 1934 Francis - 1874-1901 Edward - 1877-1898 However there is another Francis G Arnold, also born in 1874. This is the one that married Mary C. Albright. His tombstone states: ARNOLD Francis G. 1874-1948 Mary C. 1876-1955 According to James Elwood Arnold's "Descendants and relatives of Johannas Arnoldt, 1715-1803", the parents of this Francis G were Peter Aaron Arnold and Cecelia Bixler. Peter's parents were Joseph Arnold and Sarah Allwein, daughter of Philip Allwein and Barbara Franz Joseph's parents were Peter Arnold and Margaret Arentz Peter's parents were Hermanus Arnold and Catherine Allwein, daughter of Conrad and Anna Weibel. Hope this makes sense. Adam From: "Thomas A. Stobie, SFO" <stobie@sprynet.com> Subject: Re: [ALWINE] Dorothy G. 3. 1. In one family tree I have George Zweier as having two wives. The first was Christina Arnold (1863-1806) and they had 5 children: Catherine, George, Fanny, Rebecca and Mary. It then lists a second wife Catherine (unknown surname), whom he married and had two children with Elizabeth (1809) and Joseph (1810). Sorry I have no supporting evidence for this at the moment. I'll need to visit the Lebanon Historical Society next time we're home in Myerstown. I'm guessing that this information is correct or that Christina's death date is wrong (perhaps Salem Luthern Church would have the records) and Catherine and Christina are the same person. I remember trying to find George in the 1850 census last year to confirm his wife's details but had no luck. 2. The 1900 census lists November 1846 and his gravestone lists 1847. So I would assume that the gravestone would be more accurate and I'm guessing that the census at least has the correct month, hence the reason I came up with November 1847. I guess we'll need to wait until some supporting evidence arises that we can confirm his DOB with. Adam -----Original Message----- From: Thomas A. 2. Rachel and Adam
    3. 1) I have January 10, 1806 for Christina Arnold's date of death, burial in Salem Luthern Cemetery, Lebanon, PA. No idea where that came from. Probably some older Arnold researcher. 2) I have November 1847 for William Bowman's DOB. No date. This is from the 1900 census and also his gravestones lists years of birth and death only. 3) Is Anna Maria Bowman the one who married Joseph Arnold? If so her death date is March 05, 1863. From an unknown source, again probably an older Arnold researcher. 4) Joseph Arnold June 30, 1818 - May 14, 1888. Again, source unknown. I had an Arnold tree passed on to me last year from Rachel's aunt, and it was given to her in the 70's at the first Schaeffer reunion in Lebanon since Rachel is related to the Schaeffers and the Arnolds. However, the tree only listed information but no sources. You probably have to look at the records at St. Mary's. Let's hope they get translated and computerized soon!! 2. Hello Cousins, Read everything I send out yesterday? Yea, Right! If there are any additions, or corrections, please let me know. Always good to hear from the Allwein/Alwine/Alwin cousins. Near the end of part 8 of 8 is a family, Mark R. Arnold II. Mark is a real estate agent. He also owned the Arnold Shoe Store in Lebanon. Located a 1/2 block north of St. Mary's Church. I always liked buying shoes there because I have a narrow foot, and they had shoes to fit these feet. The shoe store is no longer there. Also, Mark's son Joseph Basil Arnold married my niece Kelly Ann Graybill. My fifth cousin marrying my niece. Kelly's mom Margaret Ann Allwein Graybill is my sister. Allwein's and Arnold again!
