In the 1830 census, there are 8 Grimes. Is Thomas and Martha Flowers the ones with all the kids? Who is Eli Grymes listed? Who is Eli I. Grimes? There are 3 other Thomas.and 2 Wileys. Please help. Lee Hi do not know if this will help but here goes :-) There is ELI's in the Washington Co., AL line the earliest i have was b ca1869 Freeeout Prarrie,Bosque Co.,Tx. d in Leon Co., Tx., S/o John L. & Winnie Jones, Gson of Wm & Elizabeth Barnes Grimes. His Twin Levi has a son b ca 1899 named Eli. Than i have a Eli b ca 1871 Angelina Co., Tx. That goes back to the Dawson grimes line Dawson was in Washington Co., Al. as early as 1807/8, than these other line were there so HOW do they Connect??????? just notice something Wm That married Elizabeth Barnes 1813 in Morgan Co., Ga. 1st son was James Dawson Grimes, in my files i have him as a unproven son of William & Bedy Newson , William that married Bedy Newson is a proven brother of Dawson Grimes, another thing in Connie Garcia's post i was reminded that Dawson's 1st name was Samuel, there was a Samuel in Bertie Co., NC, it seems like the same time as HUgh Grimes that went on down to Duplin Co., NC. So the Question is Have i finally found the connection ??????????? Two of Hugh's gson's were in Washington Co ca 1816 or before, one being Jesse that went on to Tx. Will also post on the Query boards to see if anyone may have some iinput . Thank you Lee for getting me to dig a little deeper Christine Grimes Thacker
