My great grandmother, Minnie A Hurd Sadler said she grew up on a plantation in Pine Apple, Ala and went to a girl's school or college. She was born in 1860 so I guess she was in school in the 1860's & 70's......She married Alious Sadler, son of Thomas W Sadler, in 1880.....probably in 1st Pres Prattville, where her siblings were married. Does anyone know where I could check to get information about school enrollment in those days? Many thanks Shirley Ryan
Schools in Wilcox County in the mid 1800s??? Is there a list? I think my grandfather Alfred Bennett Roberson may have been in a boarding school when he was ten to ??? He isn't found with his step-father Isaac Ingram and Polly Sills Ingram in any census record when he is young. Not with any of his grandparents. So, I thought maybe...a boarding school. Any ideas? Thank you for any info. Freda Roberson Noble >My great grandmother, Minnie A Hurd Sadler said she grew up on a >plantation in Pine Apple, Ala and went to a girl's school or >college.
