My ancestor was raised in Wilcox county as a child and lived in the Caledonia community which no longer exists. When my ancestors migrated to Louisiana in 1860, they told people they were from Pine Apple, most likely because that was where the post office was located. Pine Apple also had a railroad at that time and it is likely they had a boarding school. If not, I'd try the town of Camden, the county seat. They had a female institue which is still standing and most likely would have had a male institute as well. Good luck in your search! Jim
