My thanks to Bennie for posting how to access the Wilcox Co. 1850 census. I was in Wilcox Co. last summer researching the Isaac Handley family and by chance found the grave of Dorothy (Handley) Mathews - wife of Wm. T. Mathews in the Canton Bend cemetery. It is not listed in the cemetery records. Her grave is located in the center back of the cemetery beside her daughter. Dorothy is the dau. of Isaac Handley, NC I would like very much to correspond with any descendents of Wm. T. Mathews. His first wife Dorothy died in 1844. Census states his wife in 1850 was Rebecca, children: Viola. Isaac B, Lusana, Elizabeth O.. William and Celia. Any information on or contact with the Wm. T.
