    1. [ALWILCOX-L] Alabama map (1870) lookups available
    2. B.J. Smothers
    3. I ordered a map from UA's Alabama Maps. Very pleased with the quality. Quick turnaround and reasonably priced too. If anyone needs a lookup from the map of "Wilcox County, Alabama - showing - besides the topographical features - the Proprietorship of the Lands - according to the - assessment of 1870 - the residences, churches, mills etc. - compiled from the most authentic sources" (whew!), let me know. Can provide landowner in 1870 by Township & Range. Can identify owners of neighboring properties and nearby geographical features. Also useful for African American researchers looking for names of former slaveowners and to coordinate with 1870 census. B.J. Smothers

    3. B. J., thank you so much. Would you please tell us how to order the map? If you don't receive too many names to look up, would you please check for Mary Jane Polly Sills Robertson Ingram and Isaac Ingram. Many thanks. Freda >I ordered a map from UA's Alabama Maps.
