Thanks. I am interested in buying historical county maps. I do not have a large scale blueprint size printer. A large printed map would be more usefull for me. ---- Historical and current maps can be found and downloaded at http://alabamamaps.ua.edu/ George Carroll -------- I am interested in obtaining copies of old Alabama maps from UA. How would one order one and how much do they cost? Thanks for sharing the information. Thanks in advance. ---- I ordered a map from UA's Alabama Maps. Very pleased with the quality. Quick turnaround and reasonably priced too. If anyone needs a lookup from the map of "Wilcox County, Alabama - showing - besides the topographical features - the Proprietorship of the Lands - according to the - assessment of 1870 - the residences, churches, mills etc. - compiled from the most authentic sources" (whew!), let me know. Can provide landowner in 1870 by Township & Range. Can identify owners of neighboring properties and nearby geographical features. Also useful for African American researchers looking for names of former slaveowners and to coordinate with 1870 census. B.J. Hi B.J. What is the specific number, if any, for the 1870 Magical Wilcox Map, that you speak of. Your 2nd paragraph indicates "Can" provide landowners..., "Can" identify owners of neighboring properities... Is the "Can" information listed, or purchased seperately? Thanks, Sharon/Connecticut ---- Original Message ----- From: CRAD To: ALWILCOX-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, November 04, 2003 5:45 PM Subject: [ALWILCOX-L] Re: ALWILCOX-D Digest V03 #134 Thanks.
