    2. Sue Johnson
    3. My thanks to Bennie for posting how to access the Wilcox Co. 1850 census. I was in Wilcox Co. last summer researching the Isaac Handley family and by chance found the grave of Dorothy (Handley) Mathews - wife of Wm. T. Mathews in the Canton Bend cemetery. It is not listed in the cemetery records. Her grave is located in the center back of the cemetery beside her daughter. Dorothy is the dau. of Isaac Handley, NC I would like very much to correspond with any descendents of Wm. T. Mathews. His first wife Dorothy died in 1844. Census states his wife in 1850 was Rebecca, children: Viola. Isaac B, Lusana, Elizabeth O.. William and Celia. Any information on or contact with the Wm. T. Mathews family would be very much appreciated. Thank you, Sue Handley Johnson pinoaks@ipa.net

    1. [ALWILCOX-L] EVANS,MORGAN, RICKETTS, RAYBORN, TURBERVILLE
    2. I thought I posted this a few days ago, but it must be lost in cyber-space. My Great,-grand parents, both born around 1830-1834, are Mary Ann EVANS Morgan RICKETS and William H RICKETS. They lived in the Pine Hill area. Their daughter, Leona RICKETTS, b 1875, is my grandmother. She had a daughter, BUNK RAYBORN, born sometime in the 1890`s. Sept 14, 1899, Leona married William Johnson TURBERVILLE, in Marengo County, where his name is transcribed as WJ TURBWELL. They all lived in the Pine Hill area, and my father, William Archie TURBERVILLE was born May 28, 1900. By the one picture I had of her, she appeared to be Indian, probably Choctaw, but she appears on all records as white. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I never met them and would like to find them. Mary Ann and William H Ricketts are buried in Enon Cemetary, though I have been unable to find Leona and WJ. Thanks, Jewell

    3. My family tree consist of these names and others on my mother's side of the family. They were from Lower Peach Tree. There was a plantation house on the property, in which a man named Garrett bought and moved it to Uriah,Al. I have since learned that he died and his wife now lives in it . It is 9000 sq. ft antebellum. My great grandmother and grandmother lived in it and my mother and her siblings remember it. We still own the property on the Ala. river. I am looking for any info on King, Stabler , Lett , Tate , that have any info. There is a family graveyard w/ these names. Any help will be apprec. It could have been called King Plantation . Is located in Packards Bend. The house was built by a man named Tate or Tait in 1852 and has been in our family every since. D. Jacobs
