    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/DU.2ADE/301.1 Message Board Post: I don't have much on Thomas/Tom Stanford, but I did find him on the 1880 Pine Apple Wilcox County census. Tom Stanford, age 63, b. in GA., father's bp, GA; mother's bp, GA. Elizabeth Stanford, age 62, b. in NC., father's bp NC; mother's bp, NC S. Corine Smith, dau, age 38, b. in AL John Smith, gson, age 20, b. in AL Jimmie Motes, gdau, age 18, b. in TX Florence Yates, gdau, age 10, b. in AL Bettie Linam, Other, (domestic servant), age 12 b. in AL. She is listed as a mulatto. S. Corine Smith and her son John are the ones I was researching. S. Corine's son, John, married my great-aunt, Hortense Gaston. John settled in a community in Conecuh County and raised 11 children. His mother Sophie is buried at Bellville Baptist Church, near her son and several members of his family. John's father was killed in the WBTS. I was told by a daughter of John that Sophie received word her husband was wounded in the battle of Vicksburg. By the time Sophie got there he had died and is buried in MS. Margaret

    1. [ALWILCOX-L] Miss Lee Watson
    2. Wood, Valerie
    3. Hi, I have a question that I've been wondering about for YEARS. My folks are from Furman and we used to visit my grandparents (John S. and Minnie Williams). Across the road, was a little house (I understand it's long gone) where Miss Lee Watson lived. I've never known if Miss Lee was unmarried, or married a Watson. When I knew her, back in the early 1960's, she was probably about 55-65, I'd guess. Does anyone know anything about Miss Lee? I recall she died around 1968, I think; I remember Mom telling me about it (we had moved to Maryland by then). If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it! I have the book -- Down Home (or is it Going Home?) which pictures Miss Lee in there in 1965. Thanks! val www.geocities.com/alabamagenealogy <http://www.geocities.com/alabamagenealogy>
