My grandfather Alfred Bennett Roberson is not in the home of his mother Mary Jane Sills Robertson Ingram in 1850. Alfred would have been eleven years. I have wondered if his mother and step-father Isaac Ingram had place him in a boarding school. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Freda

I am very interested in what you know on this group. I know very little of what happed to Charles or siblings during their childhood. They show up after they were of age and marrying. 1. [ALWILCOX-L] Looking for my GGFather (AA) Richard Williams -- born 1790 in Virginia
    2. I am looking for my African American GGFather, Richard Williams. He was born in Monroe County during the the 1870's , and married Dolly Bradley. They had five children, Zack, Mary, Pearl, Sadie and Adeline. Dolly died in 1910, when Adeline was 2 years old. Adeline was raised by her Aunt and assumed the name of Adeline Bradley until she got older. The other older children stayed with Richard for some time, it is unclear. Based on what I have found so far, Richard remarried Melani Salter and they had several children, Richard and Mabel. I'm trying to find some information on Richard, who is my brick wall." Thank you in advance and God Bless, Mike L. Williams

Surnames: Thompson, Rodgers, Black, Woods, Byers, and Townsend Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/DU.2ADE/292.1.1.2 Message Board Post: Dear Caren: I have done some research on the Langham family. I sent you an e-mail early this morning with some of the info. I do know that Lewis Langham took Joseph L Thompson to court for An Kathrine's part in the estate of James Thompson. James, Benjamine Davis, Ann Kathrine, and Benjamin's wife all died at same time in some kind of sickness that was going around then. Joseph L Thompson was left as ex. of estate. Info I found from Charles L Langham's family was that his first wife and children died of flu or something in LA before he moved to Matagorda Co, TX and there married 2 wife. I have Orphan Court Records for Ann Kathrine's children too, but can't put my fingers on it right now.... I found lots of info there in Wilcox Co. Don't know anything about Boarding School for Ann Kathrine's children, but Wilber James Hughs Thompson, my gg grandfather and son of Benjamin Davis Thompson, was educated by private tutors as were all the older Thompson/Langham children. Evedently, Wilbur James Hughs Thompson and Charles Langham kept in touch as WJH son is the one that told me about Charles Langham. Charles was one of the first rice farmers in Matagorda Co, TX. But quit that and became the County Clerk for many years in Matagorda County, TX.
