Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/DU.2ADE/497.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Les, thanks so much for getting back with me. My grand mother was Seaborn's daughter and Seaborn was Mordacia's son. I feel truly bless by people trying to help me with this family. We know there was three of the Royals in the family from Georgia. It was Mordacia, his brother Jacob and they had a sister name Georgianna. First Mordacia and Jacob lived in Coffee Co., and their sister lived in Wilcox C., then Mordacia moved to Covington Co. and Jacob moved to Holmes Co., FL So if Mordacia was living at the time in Wilcox means he did not get killed in the Civil War. How can I find out where Mordacia died. You just do not know and words can not express how much I appreciate what you have done and any other help will be greatly appreciate. Oh they are suppose to be Cherokee Indians. Mordacia wife was a Burkett. Thanks again

Surnames: Royal, Royals Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DU.2ADE/497.1.1.1 Message Board Post: The names are listed in the census as "Rail, M." and "Rebecca." They live in the house with the number I listed and, because some houses contain more than one family, they also have a family number assigned to them; both numbers were assigned by the census taker. Between Modecai and Rebecca's house and that of his two daughters is another house, which is why their house and family numbers differ by 2. If you look at the census page where you found the two daughters, you'll find Mordecai ("M.") and Rebecca "Rail" in the second house above the girls. I'm not related to the Royals, but just trying to help.

I can't find either of them on the 1860 or 1870 census, although in 1850, Emily appears as a four-year-old girl in the household of her grandmother Mary PTOMEY. By 1880 the couple were living in Monroe County, Alabama, with four children: Margaret, Ida, Samuel, and Emily. I lose track of them after that. My Jones family has been difficult to get a clean accurate genealogy. Hassie Jones has helped me a lot, but we still have much work to do. I also descend from Stephen Sims and Callie Jones (John Bud's daughter). Have much info on the Sims line, a little on the Jones. Will be great if we can make a connection.
