My 4xs great grandfather was Johnson Vaughan. We believe his father was James Vaughan but we have not been able to find Johnson Vaughan in the Virginia records. We believe his first name was not Johnson, but it is a family name, maybe his mother was a Johnson. Until we are able to find a first name or middle name for him we are lost. Johnson Vaughan's father died when he was around 14 yrs. old and the boy was taken in by the state, they placed him in the brick mason appretenship somewhere in VA. When he was 21 years old he went into KY, and then into TN where he made his home. Johnson Vaughan became a wealthy man in TN, he had 3 wives and over 20 children. Vaughn's Gap in TN is named after my family. If we can connect, please send me a message. Thank you, Telma
Hi...does anyone have info about Edward and Siney (sp.) Blackwell? Siney may have been a Ward. In the 1850 Monroe County Census, the couple was living next door to Jane Stifflemire, a widow. Their son John Blackwell was living with Samuel and Mary Carolina Solomon Wright in 1870. Fourteen year old Thomas Blackwell was living with Jefferson Wright and Sarah Jane Solomon Wright in the 1860 Monroe County Census. Edward and Siney also had a son Gabriel. I think they are related to the Wright family...Daniel P. and Eleander Godbold Wright, but I don't know how they are related. Any info will be appreciated.
