    2. >From the Rev. J. J. Rutledge's bible, he states that he had 12 children. "Family Record - Miscellaneous - J. J. Rutledge - M. M. Norris "Was borned Raised & Married in Walker County Ala. Ordained to the Ministry 1868. Moved to Lee County, Miss. 1874. Thence to Texas, Kaufman County, 1884. Borned to them 12 children, 6 Boys & 6 Girls. 2 died in infancy, 1 boy and 1 girl. At date of this writing 9 children living, 4 boys and 5 girls, 1896. Granfather Joseph Rutledge & Gramma Winnie Rutledge whose maiden name was Joslin was borned and raised in South Carolina, **, John Norris & Elizabeth Norris whose maiden name was Musgrove, Father & Mother of M. M. Norris was raised in Tennessee." J.J. Rutledge ** Research shows that he was incorrect on South Carolina. It was North Carolina. Another Miscellaneous Page from his Bible: "This Dec. 13, 1922 I was converd & joind the Misinary Baptist Church at Pleasant Grove Walker County Ala in 1855. Ordained to preach this Gospel at Beach Grov Walker 1867 was Made a Master Mason in Irorin (?) Lodge Walker Co. Ala. 1866. Joined Cedar Grove Lodge 1884 moved (to) Terrell for holding Demit. I am now 85 years 5 months old - have 9 children, 40 gran children & 29 great gran children. Living 12 granchild & 1 Gr. Gr & 2 chldren ______ in Heaven." J. J. Rutledge Corrections for J. J. Rutledge children listed in Ann Grainger email 7.1 - Jerry Manasco Rutledge instead of Jeremiah. I find no evidence of his being named Jeremiah. If there is please let me know. 7.2 - John W. Rutledge, died January 28, 1891 not June 28. He died 2 days after his mother in the flu epidemic that also killed his sister-in-law, Mattie Harris, wife of Virgil Grant Rutledge. 7.3 - Mary Susan Rutledge married Robert D. Green not B. 7.4 - Virgil Grant Rutledge instead of Virgin G. Rutledge. Also he went by "Virge" not Virgie. He was the Sheriff of Kaufman County, Texas at one time. 7.5 - Simeon Columbus Rutledge 7.6 - Naomi Elizabeth {Bett} Rutledge (my grandmother), wife of James Winfield Ables, died February 23, 1936 not March 5, 1891. That was the date she married James Winfield Ables. They had to wait a month after her mother and brother died and his mother had died. James' father also died a few weeks after his wife. 7.7 - Melinda Araminta Rutledge. She died July 7, 1963 in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas 7.8 - Nancy Alice Rutledge was born 02 Oct 1874 in Tupelo, Lee County, Mississippi and died February 1964 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas. She married 16 September 1894 at Independance (Community) Kaufman County, Texas to James Marion Lemay. Children not listed were: 7.9 - Samuel Luther Rutledge, born 15 January 1877 in Lee County, Mississippi and died November 27, 1955 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas. He married 06 March 1915 to Maud Duncan. 7.10 - Lily Mae Rutledge - born 01 May 1882 in Lee County, Mississippi; died May 6, 1882 in Lee County, Mississippi 7.11 - Margarite Inez "Mug" Rutledge born 08 August 1885 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas and died December 17, 1973 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas. She married Lewis N. Jensen on 04 March 1909 in Kaufman County, TX. 7.12 - Male Infant Rutledge - dates unknown. Died as an infant.
