I found Timothy WILLIAMS and wife, Elizabeth (VINES) on the 1850 US Census in Walker Co., AL, Household 95, District 11. Do you have a marriage date for them? I have a VINES ancestor. Do you know the parents of Elizabeth VINES? ( I am descended from Thomas L. VINES and Malissa RUSSELL from Jefferson and Walker Co., AL. They were my great great grandparents.) Also, I am trying to identify all the maiden names of the wives on the 1850 Census in Walker Co., AL and when I can find it, when and where they married. When I complete it I want to then provide a maiden name Index for our web site. I also try to identifiy previous spouses, expecially when there are children from the previous spouse. This is a big spread sheet I have on the 1850 census separated by District 11 and District 12. I also identify the names of the household's children, who they married and if the spouse is in another household in the county so I can cross reference them there. The idea behind this was to help those other families that no one is actively researching for future researchers. It also will help us look for those elusive female ancestors by narrowing down those that haven't aready been claimed. Any help will be appreciated. I plan to take a CD of the information to the Jasper library so anyone can use it with Microsoft Excell. I have about a a half of the maiden names in District 11 and want to complete it as much as possible before doing this. Then I will complete District 12. Another way this research tool could be use would be to run an alphabetical list of all the females by their first name and date and place of birth, etc. and show who they married, if we know. (We need some "Herstory" and well as "History".) Any help will be appreciated. Ann S.
