The Walker Country Genealogical Society meets, Thursday, February 26, 2009, 1:00 PM in the Carl Elliott Regional Library meeting room, first door on the left. Our speaker will be Rick Watson, a musician, song writer, contributor to Daily Mountain Eagle, and hails from Dora, Al. He has recently written and published a book Remembering Big...the Little Scholar From the Holler. He will speak to us about growing up in Sloss Hollow during the 1950's and 1960's and beyond. He is funny, poignant, and can bring a tear to your eye. These are the stories that put meat on our genealogical skeletons. Old uncle John is gone, but he was a real person Come, bring a visitor.
